Did you know...?
  • Most museums close on Mondays.
  • You can get 50% discount at most museums with your ISIC card.
  • Most state museums are free on Saturday afternoons (after 14:30) and on Sunday mornings.
  • Most places belonging to the Patrimonio Nacional (ie. the Spanish Monarchy), are free on Wednesdays for UE citizens only.
  • Centro de Arte Reina Sofía has free guided visits on Mondays and Wednesdays (17:00) and on Saturdays (11:00).

Madrid's Municipal Tourist Board organise walking tours starting at Plaza Mayor for only 3 euros.

A professional guide will explain you everything in English.

Time: Saturdays at 10:00 am. (gather with the rest of the people at 9:30 am.). Buy your tickets at the tourist office in Plaza Mayor.

At the tourist office or at Hostal Chelo, ask for a free copy of a leaflet with itineraries around historic Madrid.
 
  • You can get maps and leaflets for free at any tourist office in Madrid, as well as at Hostal Chelo (available in different languages).
